BKK trip!

Wee!!! Just came back from BKK on Sunday. Went from 9th to 13th. Hadn't have enough fun though. Really looking forward to the next trip! Will definitely stop hesitating during shopping!! Hahha!! I love my new Naraya bag. Still thinking of what to match it with.. hmmm...

1st Day:

On the first day, we went searching for tailor shop for the guys. Got a few recommended tailors from the forum, but wanted to look around a bit first. This is what we did for the whole day: Temple, check-in hotel, tailor, central world.

Speaking of the temple, we got involved in a 'tuk tuk scam' unknowingly. I always wonder how come those old aunties, after hearing about all those kidnap/ golden apple scam still can get cheated. And I always think how stupid they are. Now I finally know why!! We're looking for the four-faced buddha when we reached Central World, where there's 2 shrines outside. A man, dressed neatly with those business man pouch under one arm approached us. He told us he works there, and teaches us how to pray. One of our friends gave him tips for it but he don wanna accept. We to he’s really nice, because he even tell us that we can visit the lucky Buddha first. Because it’s only open once a month and closing at 1pm. He helped us tell the tuk tuk to bring us to the lucky Buddha first, den four-faced Buddha, all for 20bahts!

When we reached the lucky Buddha temple, being very new to this, we asked a man sitting by the side how to pray. He taught us very patiently and even teaches us how to ask for the holy water from the monk. Then he asked if the guys are getting anything for us. He said that he save a little every day, and then waits for the jewel export event to be on then get something for her from there. Actually I’m not really interested in jewels, so just listen since he’s being so helpful.

When we board the tuk tuk, they then send us to a jewel export shop, saying that it’s the last day, and that they send us there for free. It’s so expensive can!! I mean the jewels. The moment we know the price, Angeline and I just pulled away and get the rest to go out too! After that, they bring us to 2 more tailor shops, and then sent us back. We tot all these are coincidence, and it’s like all fate that we just happened to be there when the lucky Buddha is opened (The man told us that the day it’s opened is decided by one of the monk by asking the Buddha).

But these are all fake!! It’s all planned, from the man at the shrines, to tuk tuk drivers with uniform and the man at the lucky Buddha temple! We’re lucky we didn’t get anything from the jewel places, and only cheated of our feelings. Because Philip searched online, the jewels may be authentic, but definitely overpriced! So people, do be careful of people who speak fluent English and are extra friendly, even if they claimed to be Singaporeans! So sad right!!!

We stayed at Baiyoke Boutique Philip said they gave us superior instead of deluxe room. But because everything is in place, we didn’t request for a change of room. Guess next time we should just book the superior one and save a few baths and get myself another top or bottom! Haha.

We went to the tailor, Peter Renee which is beside Asia Hotel. But they moved!! Some nice Chinese speaking auntie said they moved to just around the corner. Abit strange though.. she said the name is now ‘James Bond’. Again!! Got conned again!!! Peter Renee did moved, James Bond is only using their name. But we did managed to get a pretty good deal. The shirt they make is also of very good quality! But next time we’ll go to the real Peter Renee which is very near Baiyoke Sky Hotel. Cos the boss is very friendly and speak very fluent English. There’s no worries of any difficulties in communicating.

Central World is a great place!! I think out of all the shopping areas we went, this place look the safest? Look a bit like shopping at Takashimaya. I love Boots pharmacy!! Got the Garnier roller thingy for only around $7 SGD? I’d also brought their in-house foam bath product. Really nice!! Will a picture of it once i get e pics from philip.

I love Naraya too!! Will definitely get more next time!!

2nd Day:

We went platinum mall & MBK. We stayed at platinum till 7 plus. Had a light late lunch there at the Fuji Restaurant. The food is nice!! But do order the set meals instead. Much cheaper then ala carte dishes! After that we went MBK for a manicure while the guys went to test their tailored shirt. The journey to MBK wasn’t easy! The taxi driver said there’s a riot going on outside MBK and refused to drop us outside there. Instead, he dropped us outside siam paragon. And we gotta walk over. We walked the interlinks. It’s a pretty long way because, as usual, we got distracted by the shops inside the shopping centres. I had difficulties walking because I got indigestion and stomach is hurting badly!

We did our nails in one of the shops. We only do the normal ones, because those with designs cost much more!! But it’s quite alright, although I din really appreciate the scrubbing part because I can’t stand the ticklish feeling! We had our dinner at the BBQ place just beside the foodcourt.

*p.s. I love the banana & chocolate crepe from the foodcourt!! Yummy!!! =P~~~
